Sacoa Powers Cashless Arcade Operations at Bowling by ARENA in Switzerland
Sacoa Cashless System, in collaboration with Schwab Spielautomaten AG, has brought its technology to Bowling by ARENA at ARENA Cinemas in Basel, Switzerland. The arcade recorded over 10,000 plays during its first full month of cashless operations.
Located at Stücki Park, Bowling by ARENA features Switzerland’s first HYPERBOWLING center, along with arcade games, air hockey, basketball, pinball and attractions for younger visitors.
The installation includes 35 Spark RFID Readers, a K4 Kiosk, a POS terminal and RFID PlayCards, allowing guests to purchase, recharge and use their cards throughout the arcade without coins.
Laurent Gregoire, President of the Board at Schwab Spielautomaten AG, which has operated amusement machines across Switzerland since 1996, shared his experience:
“Our first fully cashless installation went live in July 2026. During the first full month, we recorded over 10,000 plays without a single coin transaction, despite an unusually warm and sunny August. Guests adopted the cards immediately.
The biggest improvement is the visibility. We can now track each machine’s performance by day and hour, making informed decisions about placement, replacement and pricing. The system also provides transparent monthly settlements for our venue partner, strengthening our operating model for future locations.”
